Katrina (Kathy) Jaftha – Senior Executive
Katrina (Kathy) Jaftha is a senior executive with deep expertise at the intersection of mining, rail logistics and corporate reputation management. She brings extensive experience in positioning rail as a critical backbone of the mining value chain—enabling safe, reliable and costeffective movement of bulk commodities from pit to port, while supporting production continuity and export competitiveness.
With over 30 years of leadership experience in large, assetintensive organisations, Kathy has worked closely with mining and logistics operations to align rail performance, brand credibility and stakeholder confidence. Her career includes senior leadership roles supporting mineral mining and chrome operations, where rail reliability, safety and community trust are essential to business sustainability and revenue delivery. Kathy has a proven track record in translating complex operational realities—such as tonnage delivery targets, corridor performance, safety criticality and infrastructure constraints—into clear, compelling engagement strategies for executives, regulators, customers, communities and employees. She has led integrated communication and mobilisation initiatives that supported operational efficiency, behavioural change and delivery against volume commitments.
As a strategic partner to executive and operational leadership, Kathy has driven enterprise brand governance and positioning that reinforces rail’s role as a strategic advantage for mining customers. Her work has strengthened confidence in rail-enabled supply chains, supported long-term offtake relationships and enhanced social licence to operate in
railserved mining corridors.
